Android TEL URI checker : TelStop
A quick fix for the TEL attacks described here:
'Dirty USSD' Hack Wipes Samsung Phones. Is Yours Vulnerable?
From a phone security view point this bug class is pretty interesting. Further information about this topic is available
here
.
Download it here:
TelStop.apk
or via the Play Store
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mulliner.telstop
I recommend downloading it from the Play Store in order to get notified about updates.
This tool is intended to protect phones that can't be updated.
I try to get this tool to be compatible with all Android versions, please report if it cannot be installed on your device.
TelStop works through publishing a URI handler for
TEL
. TelStop will intercept all TEL URIs and inspect them.
If it determines that the URI looks fishy it will show you a WARNING and the TEL URI.
URIs that look good are just passed to the normal dialer application.
Try the
TelStop Test Page
