THiiN Line Weather
Weather Center

Interested in the weather? Well, there are lots of places to get the Boston weather, but this is the only place to get the THiiN City weather.

It’s not really the weather we’re interested in here ... the issue is, how you can monitor local conditions from anywhere on the planet.

We installed a small weather station on our roof, and connected it to a tiny web server (the ugly box on the left). The embedded software comes from Phar Lap Software Inc.: their Realtime ETS Kernel, a TCP/IP stack, and an HTTP server.

In our Net Utility Box scenarios we refer to this kind of device as a server client. An example of how the web will be used to make command, control and monitoring functions available globally.
